This tutorial was written to help you learn to upload your first layout here at Deco-Pages.com.

First thing you do is after you have created your layout to save it as a jpeg file, all of my layouts are made and saved 12x12 and 300 dpi. Now you need to resize your layout to the proper size for uploading, which is no larger then 600x600 pixels and 72 dpi.. You can do this buy opening a new file and drag and drop your layout over the new file and then "shrinking" it down to fit the space, or you can use this program for Windows XP users (picture re-sizer) to resize it for you. (Please note: The resized layouts are not of printing quality, so make sure you rename the resized file to web size or something of that nature!! Never save the layout as orginal, because you will lose the printing quality therefore will never be able to print it out for a scrapbook.)

Now go to the Gallery at Deco-Pages, and log in. As you will not be able to upload images until you are. Now at the top of the page just under the header, you will find several tabs to navigate around the site, click on the one that says gallery:

Now you are in the Deco-Pages gallery home page. There's lots of tabs across the page now, find the one that says upload photos. See pic below if you can't find this tab:

Click on upload photos and it will take you to a page that looks something similar to this one:

Notice there's a drop down menu for which gallery you are uploading the layout to, we're going to "pretend" that it's just a personal layout. Which means it's not for a challenge so it's going to go into your personal gallery. If this was a challenge layout, you would click on the drop down menu and find the challenge for which the layout was made for, ABC Challenge, Color Challenge, Font Challenge, Photography Challenge, ect.

Now skip down to where it says select the photos you wish to upload from your computer. This is the actual layout on you saved on your computer. Click on browse and find the file name of your layout. Notice there's 6 spaces for uploading layouts, that is the daily allowance for uploading to the gallery in a 24 hr period. We're only using one for this tutorial. After you have selected your file name, scroll to the bottom of the page and click on the upload/submit button. Don't worry about anything else until you get more familiar with the site and uploading layouts.

Now you should see a page like this one below:

On the left side of the page, you should see your layout that you want to upload to your gallery. On the right side of the page you will find a list of different categories. Here's the list of categories that we are going to fill in and then click on the process button.

Title ~ The name you want to show for your layout name on the site. If you don't put anything the file name will show.

Description ~ This is where you will give a little bit of information about the layout, like who's in it, the story behind it or even list the journaling from the layout.

Keywords ~ This is where you put words that are related to your layout, like the designer and kit names, theme of the page (birthday, picnic, lake or beach).

Kit Information ~ This is where you will put the name of the kit and the designer who made it. NO LINKS go here!

Fonts ~ List any fonts used on your page.

Link (Deco-Pages links only!!) ~ If you used a kit made by a designer who sells here at Deco-Pages, you can link to the kit here.

Any Additional Info or Credits ~ List any additional designers elements or kits used in this layout here. PLEASE, NO OFFSITE LINKS!

And finally the program used to create this layout ~ PSP, PS, or PSE ect.

Now click on the process button and you're finished!! Congratulations you have uploaded your first layout to the Deco-Pages gallery.

I hope that you have found this tutorial easy to follow and that you will upload many layouts to our wonderful gallery. We'll be watching for them.

Happy Scrapping,
Jennifer Rassi
